University Challenge - The Professionals - 2004
The new series began on 19th April, Monday's at 8:30, with gaps for the Chelsea Flower Show and Olympics, culminating in the final on the 6th September. Unlike the first series, only the four highest scoring teams from the first round were selected to progress to the semi-finals.

The winning team from the British Library comprised Colin Wight, Kathryn Johnson (previously a contestant for St Hugh's, Oxford in the 1979 series), Bart Smith, and Ron Hogg and each received a trophy, a flat, framed, engraved stainless steel representation of the new opening titles, from author Fay Weldon.
